In 1921, the urban middle class joined the Non-cooperation movement. This urban middle class consisted of lawyers, teachers, principals, students, peasants, tribals, and workers. The middle class joined the Non-Cooperation Movement to oppose British goods and policy. Boycotting foreign goods would increase the sales of their handloom and textile products and profit them.
