Detailed Solution

In 1921,  the urban middle class joined the Non-cooperation movement. This urban middle class consisted of lawyers, teachers, principals, students, peasants, tribals, and workers. The middle class joined the Non-Cooperation Movement to oppose British goods and policy. Boycotting foreign goods would increase the sales of their handloom and textile products and profit them. By joining this movement, peasants hoped to be freed from their oppressive landlords and the high revenues and taxes of the colonial government. In addition, the plantation workers took part in the non-cooperation movement to gain freedom from the Inland Emigration Act.
