A diver can cut through the water in a swimming pool. Which characteristic of matter does this observation show?

Cutting of a matter depends upon the fact that how strong the particles of that matter are held together. This phenomenon of holding the particles together is known as intermolecular forces of attraction.  It is maximum in the case of solids, moderate in the case of liquids and minimum in the case of gases. Thus, a diver can cut through the water in a swimming pool because water the intermolecular forces in water are moderate.
