Detailed Solution

One of the most famous Kushan rulers was Kanishka, who reigned around 1900 years ago. Kushana was a dynasty that ruled over  Central Asia and North-West India and also had control over the Silk Trade Route. The ruler of the Kushana dynasty, Kanishka, was also a great patron of  Buddhism. Kanishka organised the fourth Buddhist council of the Sarvastivada tradition near Srinagar, Kashmir. Kanishka had a court poet named Ashvagosh who wrote a biography on Buddha named ‘Buddacharita,’ and this biography was written in Sanskrit. Many Buddhist scholars who wrote about the teachings of Buddha always used Sanskrit as their language.
