Suppose share of eldest sons = z
Share of second sons = y
Share of third sons = x
Here, the eldest son's share = 2 x second son's share.

So,
2y=z

The share of the second son = 3 x third son's share.
y=3x

Now, second son gets Rs. 4000 more than 3rd son, so
y=x+4000

3x=x+4000          (since, y =3x)
2x=4000
x=2000

So, the third son's share, x=Rs. 2000
Now, second son's share
y=3x
y=Rs. 6000
The share of the eldest son,
z=2y
z=Rs. 12000
So, the total money,
=x+y+z
=2000+6000+12000
=Rs. 20000

Hence, the total value of the property = Rs. 20000.
