Let the weight of the mixture = 1 unit
Let the weight of Brand A in the mixture = x unit
Then the weight of Brand B in the mixture = 1-x unit
Brand A has 40% millet, Brand B has 65% millet, and the mixture has 50% millet, therefore we will get the equation as,
40%x + 65%(1-x) = 50%
0.40x + 0.65(1-x) = 0.50
0.40x + 0.65 - 0.65x = 0.50
-0.25x = -0.15
x = 0.150.25
x = 0.6
To find the percentage,
x = 0.6 × 100 = 60%
Hence, Brand A is 60% of the mix
