Distance of bird as observed by fish $Z = y + μ x = y + \frac{4}{3} x$
$∴ \frac{- d Z}{d t} = \frac{- d y}{d t} + \frac{4}{3} (\frac{- d x}{d t})$
Given, $\frac{- d Z}{d t} = 16 cm/s$
Substituting in Eq. (i) we get $\frac{- d x}{d t} = 9 cm/s$
