It is given a flooring tile that has the shape of a parallelogram whose base is 24 cm and the corresponding height is 10 cm.
Area of floor =

1080 m 2

As we know,

1 m 2 = 10, 000 cm 2

⇒ 1080 m 2 = (1080 × 10000) cm 2

Area of a parallelogram is the product of its base and height.
That is,

A r e a = b a s e × h e i g h t

Given length of base = 24 cm
and height = 10 cm

⇒ A r e a = b a s e × h e i g h t ⇒ A r e a = (24 × 10) ⇒ A r e a = 240 cm 2

Therefore, area of each tile is

240 cm 2

Number of tiles required is;

⇒ Area of  floor Area of one tile ⇒ 1080 × 10000 240 ⇒ 45, 000 tiles

So, the calculated total number of tiles required to cover the floor = 45000
