Total number of matches= Total matches won + Total matches lost
Total number of matches won = 10
Win percentage = 40%
Assuming the total number of matches to be x  .
Processing the total matches won as,
Total matches won= 40% of total number of matches
10= 40 100 ×x x= 10×100 40 x=25  
Therefore, the total number of matches played by the team is 25.
