The SPA was set in Nepal. It stands for Seven Party Alliance and is a political alliance of seven parties in the country. It was set up as a significant organisation that fought to restore democracy in Nepal. The SPA organised a "four-day strike" in Kathmandu, the country's capital. The demands of the SPA were the restoration of the Parliament, the setting up of a Constituent Assembly and a- party Government in the country. King Gyanendra, who had set up an absolute monarchy in Nepal, had to bow down to the demands, and democracy was re-established in Nepal in 2006.
