Detailed Solution

Let us take one mole  of an ideal gas, the equation of state becomes, PV = RT------------------------(i)

We are given, PT = constant = K (say)

or P = KT------------(ii)

From (i) and (ii), (KT)V = RT

Work done, when temperature changes from T to (T+dT),

or V = RKT2-----------------(iii)

Differentiating (iii), dW = P dv = (KT)2RTKdT

or dW = 2R dT   --------------(iv)

Now using first law of thermodynamics

dQ = dU + dW

CdT = CvdT + 2R dT

Cv = C - 2R = 4.5 R - 2R = 52R

But we define Cv = f2R

Hence, degree of freedom n = 5
