Detailed Solution

It is given that a girl calculates that the probability of her winning the first prize in a lottery is  0.08 .  So, P(A)=0.08   .
She has sold 6000 tickets.
So, n(S)=6000   .
For an event A the probability of an event P(A)  is represented as, P(A)=  Number of favourable outcomes   Total number of outcomes     Let  n(A)    be the number of tickets she bought,
As,
P(A)= n(A) n(S) ,
So, the number of tickets she bought is,
n(A)=n(S)×P(A)   .
So, the number of tickets she bought is,
n(A)=6000×P(A) =6000×0.08 =480
Therefore, she bought 480 tickets.
Hence, the correct option is 3.
