A golden age in the past was Satyug. Birsa told his followers to bring back their glorious past in 1895. He mentioned that Satyug was a golden age in the past. Satyug was recognised as the age of truth. The Mundas lived a good life with tapped natural springs, planted trees and orchards, constructed embankments, and practised cultivation for their livelihood and survival. There was honesty amongst them, and they did not kill anyone of their brothers and relatives; they lived peacefully. Birsa also wanted their people to start cultivating fields and settle there again.
