Detailed Solution

A group of wandering people are called nomads. During medieval times, nomadic pastoralists moved over long distances with their animals. They subsisted on milk and other agricultural goods. They also traded wool, ghee, etc., for grain, cloth, utensils, and other goods with established farmers. The biggest trader nomads were the Banjaras. The name of their caravan was tanda. Sultan Alauddin Khalji used the Banjaras to deliver grain to the marketplaces in the cities. In his chronicles, Emperor Jahangir noted that the Banjaras transported grain from various locations on their bullocks and sold it in towns.
