We know that

1 m = 100 cm .

The measurements are converted to cm,
Length = 39m 10cm

= 39 \times 100 cm + 10 cm

= 3900 cm + 10 cm

Width = 35m 70cm

= 35 \times 100 cm + 70

= 3500 cm + 70 cm

=3570cm
To get the length of the sides of the square tile, we find the Greatest Common Divisor of 3910 and 3570.
The GCD of 3910 and 3570 is 170.
Area of the hall=3910×3570
Area of the hall=

{13958700 cm}^{2}

Area of one square tile=170×170
Area of one square tile=

{28900 cm}^{2}

Therefore, the number of tiles =

\frac{13958700}{28900}
