We have the following formula,
Volume of a cone = 1 3 π r 2 h  
Curved surface area of a cone = πrl  
We have,
Diameter =24m
r=12 m h=3.5m  
Volume of the heap is,
1 3 × 22 7 ×12×12×3.5 22×24 528  m 3  
l 2 = h 2 + r 2 l 2 = 3.5 2 + 12 2 l 2 = 7 2 2 + 12 2 l 2 = 49 4 +144 l 2 = 49+576 4 l 2 = 625 4 l= 25 2 m   Canvas cloth that is required is equal to the curved surface area of the cone.
Area of the canvas will be,
22 7 ×12× 25 2 = 22×150 7 = 3300 7   m 2 =471.1  m 2  
Thus the volume of the rice is 528  m 3  and the area of the canvas required to cover it is 471.1  m 2  .
Therefore the correct option is 3.
