Detailed Solution

Conduction of heat takes place in two ways (1) transfer of energy of oscillation of atoms from one layer of atoms to the adjacent aler.

(ii) flow of free electrons from hotter region to colder region. In both cases a material medium is required.

Convective heat transfer takes place by actual transportaton of mass of the medium. So the medium is affected during conduction and convection.

But heat transfer by radiation takes place due to propagation of electro magnetic wave, which does not affect the medium.
