A) Heat transfer by conduction & convection require a material medium

B) Heat transfer by radiation does not affect the medium through which it passes

Conduction and convection are possible only when molecules carry heat and either transfer it to their neighbours (conduction) or they physically change own positions(convection).

Radiation is also a mode of heat transfer which does not require material medium. Sun's energy reaches us through radiation.
