Concept- Capacitor is a device which is used to store the electric charges and it supplies the charges back to the devices whenever it is required.
As given in the question, the switch S is initially open which means that the circuit in this case is not complete which will not allow any current to pass through it.
As soon as the switch is closed, the circuit gets completed as a whole and the current is now flowing through the circuit throughout from the negative end to the positive end of the circuit. Now in this process, the capacitor gets charged because of the current flowing through the circuit as a result of which the bulb starts glowing. After some time, when the capacitor becomes fully charged, the current flowing in the circuit at that moment becomes zero. Now, the capacitor won’t allow any more current to pass along and the circuit will again become incomplete and the bulb will not glow.
Hence, the correct answer. is option 1.
