The probability of an event E is given as-
P(E)= Number of outcomes favourable to E Number of all possible outcomes of the experiment  
Given, total number of pens =144  
Number of defective pens =20  
Number of good pens =14420   =124  
Since, Nuri will not buy a pen if it is defective.
Therefore, the probability that Nuri not buys a pen is-
P(defective pens)= 20 144 = 5 36  
Hence, 5 36   is the probability that Nuri not buys a pen.
