Detailed Solution

It is given that a man bought a cooler for Rs.15200.
Also, he spent Rs.300 and Rs.500 on its transportation and repair respectively.
Therefore, the total cost price of the cooler =Rs. 15200+300+500 =Rs.16000.   Let the selling price of the cooler to make a gain of 15% be x.   Gain %= Gain C.P. ×100 15 %= Gain 16000 ×100 Gain = 16000×15 100 =Rs.2400                   (1)
That means the man will earn a profit of Rs.2400.
We know that,
Gain price = Selling price – Cost price  2400=x16000 x=18400   Therefore, by selling the cooler for Rs.18400, the man will earn 15% profit.
Hence, option (1) is correct.
