A man of mass 60 kg runs up a flight of 30 steps in 40 s. If each step is 20 cm high, his power will be 90 W.
Power is defined as the rate of doing work
= Wt
Total height of flight of stairs(h) =30 × 20 cm
         =30×0.2 m          = 6 m
mass of the man is (m)              =60 kg
acceleration due to gravity (g)  = 10 m/s2
Work here is done against gravity and is equal to
=mgh
= 60 × 10 × 6
= 3600 J
= 3600 J40 s
 P = 90 W
