We have to find the distance of the cliff from the ship and the height of the cliff.
In a right-angle triangle, tanθ=  Opposite side   Hypotenuse

Suppose CE be the cliff. C and E are the top and bottom of the cliff.

DE=CECD= h12 m.   InADE,  
tan 60 o = DE AD 3 = h12 m AD AD= h12 3 m AD= h12 3 3 m InADC, tan 30 o = CD AD 1 3 = 12m AD AD=12 3 m  
Now,
h12 3 3 m=12 3 m h12=36 h=36+12 h=48  
Therefore, the height of the cliff is 48 m and the distance of cliff from the ship = BC = AD = 12 3 m.  
Therefore, the correct option is 1.
