Detailed Solution

given ,
Total C.P=Rs. 400
CP of ¾ = ¾*400= 300 rs
CP of ¼ =¼ * 400 =100 rs  ¾ sugar sold at loss of 10%
So, SP of ¾ =90/100*300=270 rs
¼ sugar sold at gain of 10%
So SP of 1/4 = 110/100*100=110rs
Total SP = 270+110=380rs
Hence loss = 400- 380= 20 rs
Then loss in percentage = 20/400*100=5
Hence on the whole, he get 5%loss.
