Detailed Solution

A man whose mass is 50 kg moves up 15 steps each of height of 15 cm in 45 seconds of time. The power used in climbing the stairs is, P=25 W.
In general, power is given by P=Work / Time.
P=W/t
Height of the staircase, h=15×0.15
h=2.25 m
Time, t=45 s
Therefore,
P=W/t
P=mgh/t
P=(50×10×2.25)/45
P=25 W
