Detailed Solution

Maxima or minima obtained in the temperature, the composition curve of a mixture of two liquids indicate an azeotropic mixture.
Azeotropes are defined as the mixtures of liquids which boil at a constant temperature, like a pure liquid and possess the same composition of components in liquid as well as in vapour phase.

Azeotropes are also called constant boiling mixtures because the whole of the azeotropes change into vapour state at the constant temperature and their components cannot be separated by fractional distillation.
