A metallic ring is attached with the wall of a room. When the north pole of a magnet is brought near to it, the induced current in the ring will be (see from magnet side)

When the north pole is made to move towards the ring, magnetic flux associated with the ring increases. As a result emf is induced in the ring which produces anticlockwise current in the ring as   seen from the magnet side (according to the Lenz"s law).
