Neuron cells are the cells of the nervous system. They monitor and regulate the functions of the body.  

A neural cell comprises three main parts. These are the cell body, dendrites, and axon.

• The cell body contains cytoplasm and the nucleus. It is also called soma.
• Dendrites are branched processes that receive an impulse from another nerve or organ and transfer it to the cell body and to the axon.
• Axon is a long fibrous part of the nerve cell that ends in an axon terminal.
