Detailed Solution

Every vertebrate organism can focus on objects by their accommodation power. Focusing means obtaining a clean image of the object at each distance. This ability of the eye to change its focal length to focus on objects at different distances is called accommodation.
The focal length of the eye lens is adjusted with the help of ciliary muscles. Ciliary muscles can adjust the focal length of the eye such that the objects kept at a larger distance are clearly visible. However, these ciliary muscles can't reduce the focal length of the eye below a certain distance.

For the human eye, this distance or the limit is 25cm. That means our eyes can't see objects kept nearer than 25cm very clearly and distinctively. This is called as the near point.

Therefore, the power of accommodation of the human eye is 25cm to infinity.
The power of accommodation of a normal human eye is 25cm to infinity.

The power of accommodation of the eyes changes according to age and defects in the eyes.
