After bailing out the parachutist travels 50m 
 

So  v2-u2=2as (1)
using 1

v2=2*9.8*50 v2=980.

After the parachute is opened he decelerates at 2ms-2

by using 1

v2-32=2(2)*S, S is the distance before reaching the ground

S= 242.75m 

So total height =242.75+50 293m
