Detailed Solution

A party becomes a recognized party when it is recognized by the Election Commission.
The Election Commission of India, formed in 1950, plays a central role in conducting central and state elections in the country. A political party is not merely the collection of people on some common grounds. Every political party has to register with the Election Commission to get recognition of political parties. It offers privileges and facilities to large and established parties. The parties that get the special facilities from the Election Commission are known as recognized parties. The party must fulfil several criteria the Election Commission laid down to become a recognized party. There are different criteria for becoming the national party and state party.
