Detailed Solution

A person cannot read a newspaper placed nearer than 50 cm from his eyes. The defect of vision is that he is suffering from hypermetropia.
The person is unable to effectively direct light rays from an object nearby onto the retina. Far-sightedness, also referred to as hypermetropia, is this visual impairment.
You may be able to see far objects clearly but have a fuzzy vision of close objects if you have farsightedness (hyperopia), a common visual condition.
How farsighted you are affects your ability to concentrate. People with mild to moderate farsightedness may be able to see close objects clearly whereas those with severe farsightedness may only be able to see objects that are far away.
Farsightedness tends to run in families and is often evident at birth. It is straightforward to treat this condition using eyeglasses or contact lenses. Another treatment option is surgery.
