Detailed Solution

If a person can not see the object kept beyond 2 m clearly, then this defect can be corrected by using a lens of -0.5 D.
Myopia is an eye defect in which the person can see nearby objects clearly, but cannot see far objects clearly. If a person cannot see objects distinctly kept beyond 2 m, then the person is suffering from Myopia.
The far point is equal to 2 m, and therefore, a concave lens should be used of focal length -2 m. Then the power of the lens is equal to,
 P=1f
P=1-2
P=-0.5 D
A concave lens of power -0.5 D  should be used to correct this eye defect of the person.
