Detailed Solution

A person in a moving train is in a state of rest with respect to things inside the train, but the same person is in a state of motion with respect to objects (like trees, buildings etc.) outside the moving train.
Rest and motion are both relative to each other. This is shown by the example where a person sitting inside the moving train is at rest with respect to objects inside the train but is in motion with respect to objects outside the train. Rest and motion are determined when a person changes his position with respect to a reference point called origin with the passage of time.
