Detailed Solution

A person weighs 800 N on earth. The acceleration due to gravity on the moon is one-sixth of that on earth. The weight of the person on the moon is 133.3  N.
Given that,
Weight of the person on earth  W=800 N
and we know that
W=mg
on putting all the values, we have,
 mg = 800 N                × 10 = 800
 = 80 kg
Since mass depends on the matter in the body so independent of what the gravity is so it is 80 kg on earth as well as on the moon.
Weight of the person on the moon  W'=mg
Where g is the acceleration due to gravity on the moon
Given, g = g/6
Weight of the person on the moon W'=m× g6
=80 × 106
W'=133.3 N
