A picture is 60cm wide and with a length of 1.8m. The ratio of its width to that of its perimeter is 1:8.
We are given that a picture is 60cm wide and with a length of 1.8m.
But all the units in ratio must be the same for performing calculations.
First, we will convert all the units into cm.
1m=100cm
1.8m= 1.8×100=180  cm
Now, we will find the perimeter of the picture using 2(l+b)  , where l is the length and b is the breadth.
Perimeter= 2(l+b)  
=2(180+60)  
=480cm  
According to the statement,
60cm 480cm = 60 60×8  
60cm 480cm = 1 8  
Hence, the correct answer is 1:8.
