When a point positive charge is brought near an isolated conducting sphere, then there develops some negative charge on left side of the sphere and an equal positive charge on the right side of the sphere. Electric lines of force originating from the point positive charge end normally on the left side of the sphere. And due to positive charge on the right side of the sphere, the electric lines of force originate normally from the right side. So the electric field is best given by figure (i).
