Detailed Solution

A racing car at rest accelerates uniformly to a velocity of 144 kmh-1 in 20 s. Then the value of acceleration of the car is 2 ms-2.
According to question, Initial velocity, u= 0; time, t= 20 s.                                                            and final velocity, v= 144 kmh-1= 144×518 ms-1
v=40 ms-1                               We know that,    v= u + at,                                                                                                                putting all the values in above equation, we get-                                                                               40= 0 + a×20
a= 4020= 2 ms-2.
