A ray of light on one face of a rectangular glass slab emerges from the opposite face of the slab and is parallel to the direction of the incident ray.
The direction in which the light ray bends and also the extent by which it bends at the opposite face of the glass slab is equal and opposite. Since they are equal and opposite, the net bending of the ray of light becomes zero; as a result, the emergent ray will travel in a direction parallel to the direction of the ray of light that is incident on the glass slab.
