Detailed Solution

A recognised political party is one that :-
1)      Is registered with the Election Commission of India.
2)      Is given a unique Election symbol.
3)      Gets some other facilities recognised by the Election Commission.
Every party is required to register itself with the Election Commission. The election commission (EC) treats all the parties equally. But it offers some special privileges to large and established parties. These parties are then allotted special symbols by the election commission. The official candidates of a party can only use these symbols. The parties receiving these special privileges are recognized by the election commission for this purpose.
