The length of wire around the field in one round is equal to the perimeter of the garden.

Given, 

The length of the rectangular garden (l) = 18 m

The width of the rectangular garden (w) = 12 m

∴ The perimeter of the garden = 2(l+ w)                   [The garden is rectangular]

= 2(18 m +12 m)

= 2 × (30 m) = 60 m

⇒ The total length of wire required = 3 × 60 m = 180 m

Thus, the total length of wire required to fence the garden is 180 m.
