Given as follows,
Dimensions of a  rectangular piece = 3 cm × 2 cm
Dimensions of a rectangular sheet from which the above sheet was cut out = 6 cm × 5 cm.
The product of the length and breadth of a rectangle gives its area.
Now, as per the diagram, the area of the remaining sheet of paper will be the difference of the areas of the bigger rectangle and the smaller rectangle.
So, using the dimensions as mentioned for both rectangles, we have the area of the remaining sheet as,
=(6×5)(2×3) =306 =24  cm 2
 So, the area of the remaining sheet of paper is obtained as 24 cm 2 .
Hence, the correct option is (3).
