Given, a room is 4.5 m long and 4 m wide.
The floor of the room is to be covered with tiles of size 15 cm by 10 cm.
Let us assume the required number of tiles to cover the floor to be N.
So, as per the question, we have,
N x area of each tile = Area of the room.
So, we have the total number of tiles required as,
According to the question,

Total number of tiles, N = Area of the room Area of the each tile N = 4.5 × 4 0.15 × 0.1 ∴ N = 1200

Now, the total cost of covering the floor with tiles will be the product of the total number of tiles required and the unit cost of tiles, i.e.,

= R s . 4.50 × 1200 = R s . 5400

Hence, the correct option is (3).
