Given a school has a hall which is 22 m long and 15.5 m broad and the width of the carpet is 82 cm.

As we know that,
1 m = 100 cm
1 cm = 0.01 m
82 cm = 0.82 m
Width of carpet in m = 0.82 m.
The area of carpet is,

A r e a = l e n g t h × b r e a d t h ⇒ A = 14 × 20.5 ⇒ A = 287 m 2

Area of strip left uncovered = total area of hall - area of carpet

⇒ A = 22 × 15.5 − 14 × 20.5 ⇒ A = 341 − 287 m 2 ⇒ A = 54 m 2

The cost is,

⇒ C = 14 × 20.5 0.82 × 18 ⇒ C = 14 × 25 × 18 ⇒ C = 6300

Therefore, the cost is ₹ 6300.
Hence, option 1 is correct.
