Detailed Solution

Concept: A shooting star is a meteor. Shooting stars are meteorites that get attracted due to the earth’s gravity and catch fire due to friction.
Shooting stars are not related to stars at all, they are just astronomical debris or rocks that enter the Earth's atmosphere at high speed. The universe is full of debris left by asteroids and other dust and rocks, and you can't find planets or satellites. This debris spreads across the earth's atmosphere and is called meteoroids. The earth orbits the Sun and thus meets meteoroids. When these meteoroids reach close to Earth, they fall to Earth's atmosphere because of gravity, and they emit high temperatures due to the collision, and they burn meteoroids to catch fire and create light rays called meteors. When a meteorite is large enough to withstand all its heat and reach the earth's surface, it is called a meteorite. The size of a meteorite varies from particle size to asteroid size.
Hence , the shooting star is a meteor.
