Discount Amount = Discount % \times Total cost

Amount to pay = total amount - Discount amount

It is given that he bought a pair of jeans and two shirts,
Cost of jeans = ₹1450
Cost of two shirts is;
⇒ 850 × 2
⇒ ₹1700
Total cost is;
⇒ 1450 + 1700
⇒ ₹3150
The discount offered is of 10%. So,
Discount amount is;
⇒10% × 3150
⇒

\frac{10}{100} \times 3150

\Rightarrow 315
