Detailed Solution

A skier's mass of 50 kg stands at A at the top of a ski jump. He takes off at A for his jump to B. The change in his gravitational potential energy between A and B is 7.5 kJ.
P.E. at A =mg × 75 m
P.E at B =mg × 60 m
Difference in P..E =75 mg-60 mg
  = mg (75 – 60)
 = 15 mg
   = 15 × 50 × 10 J
  = 7500 J
  = 7.5 kJ
