Given : Wavelength (λ) = 5000 Å 

velocity of star (v) = 1.5 × 106 m/s. 

We know that wavelength of the approaching star (λ’) =λc-vc

or, λ'λ=c-vc=1-vc

or, vc=1-λ'λ=λ-λ'λ=λλ.Therefore,

     λ=λ×vc=5000×1.5×1063×108=25 Å.
