Given: Length of stick = 2.1 m

Let the length of the first and second pieces be 5x and 2x respectively.

∴ 5x + 2x = 2.1

⇒ 7x = 2.1

⇒ x = 0.3

∴ Length of first piece = 5x = 5(0.3) = 1.5 m

Length of second piece = 2x = 2(0.3) = 0.6 m
