Let the two stones will meet at a height (x) m from the ground after a time t sec.

For stone –I
u=0a=gs=hxt1=tsec
From S=ut+12at2
hx=0(t)+12gt2x=h12gt2----1
For stone -II
u=100m/sec   a=gs=x,   t2=tsec
apply s=ut+12at2
x=(100)t12gt2-----(2)
From (1) &(2) 100t=h;100t=300
t=3sec
From eq (2),

 x=100×312×9.8×(3)2
x=30044.1;x=255.9m
The two stones will meet at a height 255.9 m from the ground after time 3 sec.
