Given,
Initial velocity, u=5 m/s
Final velocity, v=0 m/s
Acceleration, a=-10 ms-2
From the equations of motion, the relation between initial velocity (u), final velocity (v), distance (s) and acceleration (a) is given by
v2-u2=2×a×s
On substituting the respective values we get,
02-52=2×(-10)×s
  -25=-20 s
            s=1.25 m
Hence, the height attained is 1.25 m.
